Les Menuires
The budget entry to Les Trois Vallées -- full 600km access at the lowest price point in the circuit.
Our Take
Les Menuires is the least glamorous and least expensive base in Les Trois Vallées, which makes it the smartest value proposition in the world's largest ski circuit. A Les Menuires lift pass gives full access to the same 600km of connected pistes as a Courchevel or Méribel ticket, at a cost 20-30% lower. The resort's architecture is aggressively 1970s brutalist -- the Reberty and Les Bruyères satellite villages are more palatable -- but the skiing is identical to its prestigious neighbors. The Les Menuires terrain itself is intermediate-dominated and well-suited to families, with the Bruyères sector giving good beginner and lower-intermediate options. But the circuit access to Val Thorens (directly adjacent), Méribel, and Courchevel is the primary value driver. The Pointe de la Masse at 2,804 meters gives Les Menuires its own summit and access to the Maurienne Valley on the other side. For budget-focused Trois Vallées visits where the skiing is the point and the village is the place to sleep, Les Menuires is the correct answer.

Fun Facts
- A Les Menuires lift pass accesses all 600km of Les Trois Vallées -- the same terrain as a Courchevel 1850 ticket at significantly lower cost.
- The main Les Menuires village was built in 1964 and the 1970s architecture is now significant enough that some buildings are protected.
- Pointe de la Masse at 2,804 meters gives access to the Maurienne Valley on the south side -- a full-day backcountry extension for guided groups.
- Les Menuires has hosted Alpine Skiing World Cup events. The racing infrastructure is real despite the resort's value-focused reputation.
